Emirates Health Services Concludes Successful Mental Health Awareness Month 2024
Emirates Health Services (EHS), represented by Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, has wrapped up its Mental Health Awareness Month activities under the theme "Our Mental Health, Our Responsibility." The month-long initiative aimed to raise awareness of mental health's importance and foster a supportive, balanced community. The program attracted strong participation from various societal sectors, concluding with a ceremony at the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
Dr. Noor Almheiri, Director of EHS's Mental Health Department, celebrated the event’s success, noting the launch of numerous campaigns to promote psychological well-being and stability across the UAE. She commended the institution's staff and supporters for their contributions to the initiative's achievements.
Afra Salem, Director of Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, emphasized the essential role of mental health in boosting community productivity and creativity. She highlighted the importance of addressing the stigma surrounding mental illness and supporting individuals to reach their full potential.
The closing ceremony included lectures on topics such as mental health in schools, adolescent psychological challenges, and parental support. The month-long campaign reflects the UAE’s commitment to an inclusive healthcare system, prioritizing awareness, prevention, and accessible mental health care for all.
