Dubai Municipality Reviews Key Projects to Enhance Workforce Efficiency

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) recently convened a meeting with human resources managers and executive directors from several government entities in Dubai. The session, held at Al Ittihad Museum and chaired by H.E. Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of DGHR, aimed to review major ongoing and proposed projects designed to improve workforce efficiency and performance in the government sector.

The meeting highlighted several projects that align with DGHR's agenda to upgrade human resources and integrate best practices within Dubai's government system. The initiatives focus on enhancing human resource capabilities, adopting innovative approaches, and incorporating global best practices to support the Emirati workforce in adapting to rapid changes and future demands.

Key Projects and Initiatives Discussed

  • Measuring Workforce Productivity: This project aims to offer accurate data and indicators on workforce productivity across government entities, ensuring the optimal use of human resources and achieving the goals of ‘We the UAE 2031’ and sustainable development.

  • Dubai Government Jobs Engineering: Focused on supporting human resource practices, including compensation, career development, and workforce planning, to address current and future workforce needs.

  • Empowering Human Resources Departments: A project to equip HR departments with resources and strategies for improving knowledge and abilities through specialized training courses and best practice implementation.

  • General Framework for Government Human Resources Training - Future Skills Dubai: This initiative aims to create a competitive workforce with key skills for future changes, encouraging digital transformation and supporting the UAE’s national economy.

  • Review of Human Resources Law, Policies, and Regulations: A leading initiative to develop a unified framework for integrated government HR management, providing updated and flexible policies based on modern best practices.

  • Financial Allocations Decision Review: Evaluates the competitiveness of compensation and allowances to attract and retain exceptional talent.

Future-Oriented Strategies

DGHR emphasized the ‘Future Features of Government Human Resources’ project, which aims to create a future-ready Emirati workforce in both public and private sectors. This initiative aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’, targeting to double Dubai's economy by 2033 and positioning it among the top three global economies.

H.E. Iman Bin Khatam, Director of Policy and Programme Support at DGHR, underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination between DGHR and various Dubai government stakeholders. The initiatives discussed are designed to build a cohesive and supportive work environment, boosting employee productivity and contributing to Dubai’s prominence in the global economy.
