H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, has received a delegation from Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) at DC headquarter. The visit was aimed to express MMUNs appreciation to Dubai Customs for its steadfast support to youth development initiatives and programs and to extend an invitation to H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, to be a guest and speaker at the MMUN conference, to be held at the headquarter of the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome- Italy, at the end of May.
Dubai students be able to re-enact the role of ambassadors at the first UN simulation conference in the Middle East, to be held early next year.
The MMUN team included Michael Jacobson, Chairman of MMUN, and Judith Cunningham, Executive Director of MMUN, accompanied by a work team from the organisation.
The Montessori Model United Nation launched a five-day programme in Dubai, in partnership with Dubai schools, Dubai Education Zone, with the participation of hundreds of students that took place between April 16-25, 2015.
The Montessori Model United Nations program culminates classroom or after school study with a global education simulation experience at the United Nations that enables students in upper elementary, and middle schools to learn about the operations of the United Nations and its role as the worlds largest international peacekeeping and humanitarian organization. In addition, like the high school and university Model United Nations Programs, MMUN provides students from 9-15 years of age an opportunity to develop critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and evaluative skills and debate current global issues and world problems.
