du and Huawei Renew Strategic Partnership to Advance Emiratisation and Digital Talent Development in the UAE

du, the UAE’s leading telecom and digital services provider, has announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with Huawei to accelerate Emiratisation efforts and foster the development of local digital talent. The renewed collaboration is aimed at equipping UAE nationals with the skills and expertise needed to thrive in future-focused technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, 5G, and cloud computing.

Building upon a long-standing relationship rooted in innovation and ICT development, the renewed partnership will focus on providing advanced training programs for du employees across all levels, from graduate trainees to executive leaders. This initiative aligns with du’s digital transformation goals and supports the UAE's broader vision of becoming a global leader in technology and innovation.

Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, stated:

“Huawei and du share a commitment to supporting the UAE’s national Emiratisation strategy, and we are proud to build on this long-standing relationship. Through this renewed partnership, we aim to nurture a competitive and future-ready talent pipeline empowered by world-class digital skills.”

The renewed agreement includes a Joint Annual Training Plan (ATP) with specialist programs, executive leadership training, and a series of ICT knowledge-sharing webinars. These programs will deliver hands-on learning and leadership development to ensure du employees remain agile and well-equipped to navigate evolving technological landscapes.

David Tao, CEO of Huawei UAE, added:

“We are honoured to continue our partnership with du to promote Emiratisation and build a strong digital future for the UAE. Together, we will empower talent through comprehensive training in key areas like AI and data analytics, contributing meaningfully to the UAE’s digital economy.”

Since 2021, initiatives such as the Huawei Internship Development Program and ICT Talent Development Programs have laid a strong foundation for developing UAE national capabilities in next-generation technologies. The renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to sustaining this momentum and advancing national strategies for innovation, education, and employment.

Looking forward, du and Huawei aim to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of telecom and digital services in the region—while reinforcing the UAE’s position as a globally competitive hub for technology and innovation.
