Doha Design District hosts grand opening of Liberty Home international showroom
Doha Design District (DDD), in collaboration with Msheireb Properties and Liberty, has officially opened Liberty Home, the iconic British brand’s first international showroom at Msheireb Galleria. The launch marks a significant milestone for Doha’s design landscape, blending Liberty’s 150-year heritage of textiles and innovation with Qatari cultural influences.
Eng. Ali Al Kuwari, CEO of Msheireb Properties, described the launch as a defining moment for design in the city. He said: “The opening of Liberty Home Msheireb is not just the launch of a store, but the beginning of a new chapter in Doha’s design journey. Hosting Liberty’s first international showroom reflects our vision of positioning Msheireb Downtown as a global destination for design and heritage, while supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030.”

The showroom goes beyond retail, serving as a cultural platform that combines Liberty’s British artistry with Qatari design elements. Highlights include exclusive product lines, immersive displays, and specially curated artworks. Among the launches is The Doha Voyage, a Qatar-exclusive textile collection inspired by the architectural identity of the Design District.
Further enhancing the opening, Liberty collaborated with students from VCUarts Qatar on creative window installations symbolizing cultural dialogue, inspired by British trade ships and Qatari dhow boats. The brand also introduced a first-of-its-kind activation by transforming select rooms and suites at the Mandarin Oriental, Doha, including the Baraha Presidential Suite, into immersive interiors showcasing Liberty’s design philosophy.
The debut also saw the opening of the Liberty & Co Café, the brand’s first café concept, featuring a British-inspired menu with dishes influenced by Liberty’s textile heritage.

Doha Design District announced plans for future projects such as collaborative fabric collections, artist-in-residence programs, and public exhibitions to strengthen Qatar’s cultural ecosystem in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The launch of Liberty Home at Msheireb Galleria further establishes Msheireb Downtown Doha as a regional hub for creativity, innovation, and international design engagement.
