Director General of the Family Development Foundation Highlights UAE’s Commitment to Child Welfare on Emirati Children’s Day

Her Excellency Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), has reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and development-focused environment for children. Speaking on the occasion of Emirati Children's Day, she emphasized the visionary leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, ‘Mother of the Nation’, whose efforts have played a pivotal role in ensuring that children in the UAE have access to holistic education, healthcare, and social opportunities that support their growth and skill development.

Her Excellency highlighted the UAE’s achievements in child welfare, attributing them to the strong leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. She noted that the country has set new benchmarks in child rights and empowerment, implementing transparent strategies and hosting various initiatives aimed at developing a strong, promising generation and fostering a cohesive society.

H.E. Al Rumaithi also expressed her deep gratitude to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, who, in her role as Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the FDF, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has been instrumental in advancing child welfare initiatives across the UAE. She cited Sheikha Fatima’s vision, which underscores that investing in children is key to national progress, as their nurturing and development directly shape the future of the country.

She further acknowledged the vital role of families and child-focused organizations in ensuring that children receive the care, education, and encouragement necessary for their success. She emphasized that children are the UAE’s most valuable asset, and their well-being is crucial in shaping a resilient and forward-thinking society.

The Family Development Foundation remains committed to aligning with the UAE’s leadership’s vision by implementing programs and initiatives that support children’s rights, education, and holistic development, ensuring that every child in the UAE is empowered to realize their full potential.
