We are committed to enhancing collaboration with UAE National higher-education institutions, which have excelled and have become beacons for scientific knowledge, regionally and globally. We are delighted to sign this agreement with the University of Sharjah, which is a prestigious and leading educational institution in the UAE. This step is part of our efforts to collaborate with universities, and educational and vocational educational institutions in the UAE to empower National staff and continuously hone their skills. It also supports our scholarship programme to provide scholarships for students wishing to study electrical and mechanical engineering, and degrees in sustainable and renewable energy, said Al Tayer.
Through this MoU, we look forward to enhancing cooperation with the University of Sharjah to support our vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility. This helps us achieve the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop staff and their skills, and enhance innovation and creativity in government organisations, added Al Tayer.
Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasised that the MoU with DEWA supports the Universitys mission, which was set by HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, since the beginning. It stipulates that University of Sharjah works to develop society and fulfil all its needs. This includes research, studies, interaction, and all forms of scientific and social collaboration to support its growth and progress in performing its national and social role to achieve all-round UAE National development.
The level and core of DEWAs services, and the overall progress it has achieved since the 1990s, have set a standard for a modern Emirati organisation. The progress DEWA has achieved will be basis for a deep scientific collaboration with the University of Sharjah. Both parties will set high standards to reap the fruit of this cooperation in everything that enhances their efforts to develop this country and support its projects to reach global prospects. These are major UAE National objectives our wise leaders are looking forward to achieving with modern tools and unparalleled Emirati persistence. Each day, we witness achievements and successes at the global level, said Al Nuaimi.
DEWA works relentlessly to develop the capabilities of its staff in all specialities by providing the latest educational and training programmes. This is done by enhancing collaboration with UAE National educational institutions, universities, and training centres.
