Arabian Days Festival and Anghami Celebrate Arabic Poetry with Exclusive Playlist

The Arabian Days Festival, in partnership with Anghami, has unveiled an exclusive playlist celebrating the greatest sung Arabic poems performed by legendary Arab artists. The playlist release coincides with the launch of the second edition of the festival, which celebrates the Arabic language. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, the event will take place from December 14 to 16 at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi's Cultural District.

The "Arabian Days 2024" playlist, now available on Anghami, highlights works from iconic Arab poets, spanning eras from pre-Islamic times to the early modern period. It draws inspiration from the highly anticipated book One Hundred and One Sung Poems, soon to be published by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, remarked:
"This curated collection of sung Arabic poems, created in collaboration with Anghami, reflects the essence of the Arabian Days Festival. It underscores the beauty and creativity of the Arabic language through poetry and music, while connecting with younger audiences via digital platforms. Our aim is to rekindle appreciation for Arabic poetry and its timeless cultural significance."

Elie Habib, CEO of Anghami and OSN+, shared his enthusiasm for the initiative:
"Arabic is more than a language; it is the rhythm of our cultural identity. At Anghami, we are proud to support the Arabian Days Festival for the second year, celebrating the rich heritage of Arabic poetry and music. Through this partnership, we aim to bridge generations, showcasing the enduring beauty of the Arabic language through song."

The featured poems are paired with distinguished musical compositions and brought to life by renowned Arab vocalists. Organized chronologically, the playlist and the upcoming book illuminate the rich legacy of Arabic poetry, showcasing the talents of composers and singers who have preserved these cultural treasures. The book will also include insights into the artists' unique styles and contributions, offering readers a comprehensive look into the union of Arabic poetry and music.

The book One Hundred and One Sung Poems is slated for release at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair next year, adding another dimension to the celebration of Arabic cultural heritage.
