Almarai Partners with GOSI to Introduce Post-Retirement Health Insurance for Employees
Almarai, the leading food and beverage manufacturer in the Middle East, has signed a cooperation agreement with the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) to launch the Health Insurance Extension service. This initiative ensures that employees of Almarai can continue to benefit from health insurance coverage even after retirement, marking a first-of-its-kind program in Saudi Arabia.
A Sustainable Solution for Retirees
Ayman AlGeer, Chief Human Resources Officer at Almarai, described the initiative as part of the company’s commitment to providing innovative, sustainable solutions to support employees throughout their professional and personal lives.
"This service enables Almarai employees to maintain health coverage at affordable costs post-retirement, easing the financial burden of medical care. The initiative offers flexibility by allowing retirees to pay insurance premiums in 12-month installments, ensuring continued access to care while supporting financial stability," he said.
Under this program, retirees will remain part of Almarai’s health insurance policy, with GOSI ensuring the deduction of the monthly policy amount from retirement benefits. This structure guarantees the interests of all stakeholders while providing long-term benefits to employees and their families.
Commitment to Social Responsibility
Almarai’s collaboration with GOSI underscores the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its broader mission of community investment. By fostering partnerships with national institutions, Almarai aims to enhance the quality of life for its employees and contribute positively to society.
This initiative reinforces Almarai’s role as a leader in implementing forward-thinking employee welfare programs and demonstrates its commitment to creating a supportive environment for both current and retired employees.
