Al-Futtaim Education Foundation School Achieves Outstanding Performance in 2024 GCSE Results

Deira International School (DIS), a prominent institution under the Al-Futtaim Education Foundation (AFEF), has once again demonstrated its exceptional academic standards with the release of the 2024 GCSE results. These results further solidify AFEF's commitment to excellence in education and reinforce the school’s prestigious reputation.

For the past two years, DIS has received an 'Outstanding' rating from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), and this year's GCSE results only enhance its status. Out of the 117 students in this year's cohort, 35% achieved A* grades, and 54% received A*/A grades, with remarkable performances across core subjects such as Science, Mathematics, English, and Economics.

Notable high achievers include Haya Al Mansoori, Diya Thalitaya, Hussain Mustafa Aman, and Michalina Marta Figarska. Haya Al Mansoori, in particular, stood out by securing a 100% A* grade across all subjects, reflecting the dedication and hard work that define the DIS student body.

Simon O’Connor, Director of Deira International School, praised the students, staff, and the entire school community for their exceptional achievements. “These results are a true reflection of our students’ hard work, dedication, and resilience. I am immensely proud of their success and grateful to our incredible staff for their unwavering support. As an ‘Outstanding’ school, these achievements confirm the high standards we consistently uphold and give us even more confidence in guiding students to the next stage of their education.”

This year’s GCSE results, with over 50% of grades being A-A* and more than 75% A*-B, are a testament to the collective efforts of students, teachers, and parents. In Mathematics, half of the students achieved an A grade. The English department also commended students for their excellence in both language and literature.

Beyond academics, DIS students excelled in arts and sports, underscoring the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. The Performing Arts department highlighted the students’ significant contributions to the school’s cultural life, while the Physical Education department recognized their ability to balance academic excellence with a passion for sports.

Al-Futtaim Education Foundation continues to empower its schools by deploying highly qualified teachers, integrating cutting-edge technological innovations into classrooms, providing exceptional scholarship opportunities, and improving facilities across its institutions. The 2024 GCSE results affirm the Foundation's unwavering dedication to building a strong and reliable academic ecosystem in the region.
