Al Bustan Centre & Residence hosts Zumba to promote Breast Cancer awareness
October is known as Pink Month, a global effort to raise awareness of breast cancer. It is the most common cancer among women and the second most frequently diagnosed cancer worldwide. According to the International Agency for Research Institute for Cancer (IARC), 4707 new breast cancer cases were diagnosed in 2018 in the United Arab Emirates alone.
Al Bustan Center & Residences, a popular hotel-builder among tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, recently held free zumba and yoga sessions to highlight the importance of early detection for its employees to deal with the disease effectively and in a timely manner. The event, called "Fit and Fight Cancer", was hosted by our fitness instructor at the Al Nahda Banquet Hall on October 19, 2019. This fun and purposeful fitness activity paired with the Dubai Fitness Challenge was well supported by the staff.
Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre and Residence, Moussa El Hayek, said: A major concern is the increasing number of breast cancer cases worldwide each year. The Al Bustan Center and Residence are driven to support the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign through our fitness programs. We believe it is important to educate our Staff, both male and female, about breast cancer, including prevention and treatment strategies."
Al Bustan Center & Residence is a supporter of healthy lifestyles and fitness. Over the past months, various medical and health campaigns have been organized to improve the lifestyle of employees.
