The Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hub71 to explore the use of technology and startup solutions across Abu Dhabi's real estate sector.
The agreement was signed at LIVEX 2026, the Liveability and Investment Exhibition, and establishes a framework for connecting real estate sector challenges with technology startups through potential pilot projects, referrals, business opportunities and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
ADREC is an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and serves as the custodian and regulator of Abu Dhabi's real estate sector. Hub71 is Abu Dhabi's global technology ecosystem.
Startups to test solutions against real estate challenges
Under the MoU, ADREC will identify challenges and priorities within the real estate sector and work with Hub71 to identify startups whose technologies could address those requirements.
Selected startups may have opportunities to test and validate their solutions through potential pilot projects, giving them access to practical sector use cases and potential government and industry partners.
ADREC will also refer startups from its network to Hub71 programmes and contribute sector expertise to Hub71's startup selection processes, helping identify technologies relevant to real estate requirements.
Rashed Al Omaira, Director General of ADREC, said technology would play an important role in the development of Abu Dhabi's real estate sector.
“Our work with Hub71 connects the real estate and technology sectors. It gives us access to the startups and talent that can help address real priorities, from how the market is regulated to how people buy, sell, and manage property,” Al Omaira said.
He added that the partnership would focus on testing practical solutions and adopting those that demonstrate value for the sector.
Collaboration includes events and mentorship
The agreement extends beyond technology pilots and potential business opportunities. ADREC and Hub71 will also explore joint community events, workshops, mentorship programmes and knowledge-transfer activities.
ADREC can contribute sector expertise to Hub71 activities and introduce specialists from its network to support startups through mentorship and knowledge-sharing.
Ahmad Ali Alwan, Chief Executive Officer of Hub71, said the partnership would give technology founders opportunities to test their solutions against real-world use cases in the real estate sector.
“By working directly with sector and government stakeholders, startups can test their technologies against practical use cases, deepen their understanding of the sector’s priorities, and refine solutions with a clearer path to adoption,” Alwan said.
Two-year collaboration framework
The MoU has an initial term of two years and provides a framework for cooperation across startup engagement, technology use cases, pilot projects and potential business opportunities.
The partnership connects Abu Dhabi's real estate regulatory and industry environment with its technology startup ecosystem, creating a mechanism for exploring technology applications in areas relevant to the emirate's property market.
