Start practicing this skill today to fare better through the chaos of daily life

If yes, stop travelling on a bus you dont know the destination of. Get down. Ponder it over a cup of hot coffee. Decide where you want to go, and catch the very next bus to the exact place you want to go! We have all been subjected to endless pieces of advice on the importance of leading a well-planned life since early childhood. Pre-planning is a powerful tool especially in todays world where everyone is caught up in a maze of chaos.

Planning takes little effort to put to practice but on the other side reduces our effort by large. Planning also helps us ease into a life of routine. To lead a messy life is tough, that too on a long term basis. A displaced toothbrush or bath towel can be a real spoiler to start off with a new day. Planning is a great tool that can get rid of such daily spoilers. When we talk about planning, we are not talking only about the planning we make in AC rooms seated with business partners alone, we are also talking about planning the simple subtle things of daily life that might sound as superficial as planning the position of things at your home and sticking to placing them right.

This can reduce a lot of burdens and save a lions share of our time that we waste hunting for things misplaced. Imagine the simple act of pre-planning a food time-table for yourself. This can put an end to time wasted confused over what to eat and what to cook. You only have to check out your menu and act accordingly, so much time saved! This act of planning regarding minor things can also be extended to the larger elements in our life.

Planning our work schedule for the day, planning the agenda for a meeting, planning the people to meet for the day and more. Once you start practicing this, you can naturally see the burden drift off your head slowly, leaving you happy and stress-free at work! But again, a controversial thought in this discussion is, if too much planning would kill the spontaneity of life. This is where you have to use your grey cells and act smart. The simple logical solution is that having a pre-planned picture or schedule in your mind doesnt mean that you stick to it, rain or shine.

Not that you let go of it completely either, but that you can switch to a better plan when you have one. The significant fact is that you will never be lost if you have a plan. You will always have an idea of what to do next rather than get baffled at yourself. And once if at all you think the plan is growing stale and getting you bored, you can easily tweak it. There is always room for the new and variety in life!

Planning is the most important tool put to practice by great men and women around the world. They do not wake up to a day clueless. All of them who have conquered heights and carved a niche for themselves have always led a planned life, which doesnt mean that they settle down with a pen and notepad every morning, but that they were all driven by a well-planned idea in their mind, which they inculcated in their day-to-day lives. It is like a jigsaw puzzle where every single unit contributes to the completion of the whole puzzle.

Incorporating planning into our daily lives can do the same magic in the long run. It can take us closer to our ultimate goal faster while making everyday life easier. Rekindle the feeling of joie de vivre in your life. Love the life you are living. And if you are thinking about starting with planning the next to the next day or the next week, (sigh) oh dear, we werent talking about procrastination!
