How to Choose a Flower Delivery Service in Dubai
Ordering flowers in Dubai is not difficult. The city has plenty of good flower shops, and most of them offer same-day delivery. The issues are usually much smaller: the flowers look different from the photo, or you only find out about the delivery fee after choosing the bouquet. Nothing catastrophic — just enough to take the shine off a nice gesture.
Most of this can be avoided if you check a few things first.
Reliable delivery
Almost all Dubai florists claim they can deliver flowers on the same day they are ordered. The cut-off time is the detail you need to check. Some stores stop accepting same-day orders at noon. Others take orders as late as 7 or 8 p.m., which matters if you remember at the last minute. Look for that information first.
One thing about time slots: it is easier to work with a shop that gives you a two-hour delivery window at checkout than with one that simply says the bouquet will arrive sometime on Thursday. That may be fine for a parcel you are not in a hurry to receive. Flowers, however, are usually delivered to someone who needs to be at home.
Also check whether the area is covered. Most florists will deliver to Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, JBR, and most of Dubai Marina. The farther out you go, the more it varies. Not every shop covers The Springs or Mirdif, and sometimes there may be a considerable delay because of the distance. Before you choose a bouquet and fall in love with it, confirm that delivery is available to the recipient’s area.
One detail people often overlook is that some florists in Dubai accept orders on WhatsApp with a later cut-off time than the website. A site may stop accepting same-day orders after 7 p.m., while the same shop may still take WhatsApp orders until 8 p.m. It is a small thing, but useful to know.
The flowers
All florists in Dubai will say their flowers are fresh. On its own, that does not tell you much. Reviews can help, but it is worth reading them properly rather than just scanning the rating.
People who receive tired blooms are likely to mention it. Pay attention to comments about how long the bouquet lasted and the condition of the stems when the flowers arrived. One review saying the flowers were already soft when the box was opened can tell you more than ten five-star reviews that simply say “lovely, fast delivery.”
Some florists will take a picture of your bouquet before it is sent out. Often, you can request this even if it is not mentioned on the website. A shop that is comfortable doing this is usually confident about what it is sending.
The heat is another factor. A bouquet that sits for 40 minutes in a delivery van in August will not look the same as one that has been packed and transported carefully. This is where florists that handle transit properly make a difference. Those that do not will usually show it within the first day. In summer, it is a good question to ask before placing the order.
Do not just look at the main items on the home page. When you are shopping, browse the full catalogue. Compare the lower-priced options too. This is often where you can tell whether there is a proper florist behind the scenes or just someone buying flowers wholesale and assembling bouquets in a hurry. Some shops put as much care into a 180 AED bouquet as they do into a 600 AED bouquet. Others do not, and it shows.
Before you pay
Delivery charges should be clear early on. If you only reach the payment page and then see an extra zone fee or a minimum order you were not told about earlier, the shop knows you are less likely to back out. A fixed upfront fee, whether it is AED 40 or something else, is the right way to handle it.
Check the number of reviews, not just the score. A flower delivery service with sixty reviews and a 4.9 rating is not the same as one with nine reviews and the same rating. They may look similar at first glance, but the volume matters. Read a couple of the critical reviews too. A florist that listens and explains what happened is usually a safer choice than one that responds defensively or not at all.
One final point, especially if you are ordering from outside the UAE: check whether the payment system accepts your card type before you spend too much time choosing a bouquet. Some shops do not accept certain foreign cards, and this may only become clear when you are ready to pay.
