‘Another Major Win Any Time’: UAE Lottery Says Every Ticket Has a Shot After Dh100-Million Grand Prize
Even after the UAE’s biggest-ever lottery payout, the next multimillionaire may not be far behind. Scott Burton, Commercial Gaming Director at UAE Lottery, said:
“While winning the Dh100 million Grand Prize is certainly extraordinary, every draw is based on chance … We could see another major win at any time.”
Last month, 29-year-old Abu Dhabi resident Anilkumar Bolla became Dh100 million richer after matching all seven numbers in the exact winning combination — beating staggering odds of 1 in 8.8 million.
Every Ticket Still Has a Fair Chance
Burton explained that each draw is completely independent, meaning the odds remain constant regardless of previous outcomes.
“The odds or structure of future draws are not affected by previous wins. Each ticket stands the chance of winning, regardless of when or how often someone plays,” he said.
He further noted that UAE Lottery’s odds are far better compared to some international draws:
“For context, the odds of winning the jackpot in the UK Lotto are about 1 in 45 million. So, we believe the UAE Lottery offers significantly better chances of winning the Grand Prize while maintaining world-class standards of transparency and integrity.”
Anilkumar purchased 12 tickets, one of which quietly changed the course of his life forever.
Record Win Triggers Surge in Participation
The record-breaking Dh100-million payout has sparked a nationwide wave of enthusiasm.
“The Dh100-million Grand Prize has generated unprecedented excitement across all player segments, translating into a clear surge in participation,” Burton revealed.
He confirmed a solid increase in new registrations, along with returning players who were previously inactive.
“This win didn’t just attract new players; it reengaged many existing ones,” he added.
Momentum continues to grow — during the most recent draw, UAE Lottery celebrated another winner of Dh1 million.
Burton also confirmed that the Dh100-million prize is officially the largest lottery payout in UAE history, marking a milestone moment for the country’s first and only regulated national lottery.
Meet the UAE’s Newest Multimillionaire
Despite his newfound wealth, Anilkumar remains grounded. The soft-spoken IT professional said he plans to continue working and living in the UAE.
“I plan to continue working for now. I want to stay in the UAE for at least the next 10 years. This win gives me the opportunity to invest wisely and plan for the future,” he said.
His biggest dream is to bring his parents and brother to live with him in the UAE.
“The UAE is a very safe and secure country, and I’m happy to build my life here,” he said. “I want my parents and brother to experience the life I have here and be close to me.”
