World Association of Chefs Societies and Nestl Healthy Kids Together on World Chefs Day to Promote Healthy Eating to Children

Under the theme Healthy Kids- Healthy Future, chefs from the Emirates Culinary Guild led celebrations of International Chefs Day, and volunteered to cook nutritious recipes with 3rd Grade schoolchildren at Dubais International Centre for Culinary Arts during an event organized by Nestl Professional.

We believe that good eating habits should be transmitted during childhood, and that cooking should be part of the educational process, said Thomas Haller, Business Development Manager at Nestl Professional Middle East, and Chairman of the Emirates Culinary Guild in Dubai. It was very rewarding to share our passion for cooking with young kids, and to take them through the experience of being a chef for a day.

Around the world, International Chefs Day commemorations this year witnessed chefs coming together with teachers, parents and children through the global Nestl Healthy Kids nutrition education program, in order to share their love of healthy cooking and encourage children to adopt healthy eating habits.

International Chefs Day is set annually for October 20th, and involves over 10 million chefs in social activities conducted among local communities.

The Nestl Healthy Kids Program was launched in 2009 to raise awareness of nutrition and healthier lifestyles among school-age children. Working together with almost 300 partners from local governments, universities, scientific institutions and child nutrition associations, the program has reached more than 7 million children worldwide, and is run in the Middle East under the name Nestl Ajyal Salima.
