UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention Launches Awareness Activities for Children as Part of GCC Oral Health Unified Week
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched the tasks of the GCC Oral Health Unified Week under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry's Health Centers and Clinics Market. The drive is being held in control with the Executive Office of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), Colgate, and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Dental University.
The GCC Oral Health Unified Week aims to increase understanding on the significance of health, the relevance of healthy food option and its direct influence on oral health, and the requirement for regular dental evaluations every six months by arranging workshops for children.
Dr. Mariam Al-Sayed Jafar, Head of the UAE Ministry of Health and Avoidance's Oral area, mentioned that the objective of the GCC Oral Health Unified Week is to combine tasks, efforts and understanding programs throughout the region. She explained that this will add in boosting the oral and oral health of the residents of all GCC nations who all have similar food habits and social behaviors.
Dr. Al-Sayed Jafar added that this event stresses the importance of preventative action to decrease the incidence of oral conditions and advertise healthy habits amongst children, families, and public. She clarified that it highlights the value of dental care and elevates understanding about chronic illness such as diabetic issues to lower the occurrence of dental conditions in the community as teeth decay can affect a child's nutritional and educational achievement.
According to the campaign, the Ministry supplies specialized dental services in 7 specialized oral centers, medical facilities, and Primary Healthcare Centres to promote the gain access to of community participants. In cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Education, the Ministry's Dental Division will implement a Preventive Program in 125 public colleges in the Northern Emirates that includes oral examination of students and preventative fillings for certain age.
