Singapore add itself into the glittering list of Expo2020 Dubai participants

Singapore will take part in Expo 2020, the next World Expo, which will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 20th October 2020 to 10thApril 2021. The Singapore Pavilion, titled Nature. Nurture. Future, will pay tribute to Singapores voyage towards growth, sustainability and resilience.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) will lead Singapores participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, coordinating and collaborating with partners from the public and private sectors to realize the Singapore Pavilion.

Global platform for making connections
Themed Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, Expo 2020 Dubai will be a celebration of key global improvements and accomplishments, offering visitors 173 days of technology, art, science, culture, creativity, food and music. It will provide a platform to address global difficulties and foster creativity, innovation and collaboration amongits 192 participating countries and millions of visitors. Expo 2020 will also be the first World Expo to be hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region and is expected to attract 25 million visits.

With the theme of Nature. Nurture. Future, the Singapore Pavilion will encapsulate Singapores story of overcoming its physical limitations as a small island city-state to become a highly livable and sustainable city. With the world becoming more fast-paced, diverse and unpredictable, it is essential that Singapore adapts to remain resilient.

Through an imaginative and experiential voyage of individual and aggregate discoveries, guests will come to comprehend Singapores development into a City in a Garden, where it keeps on encouraging a synergistic and collaborative relationship between the community, nature, and the built environment, to create possibilities for the future.

The Singapore Pavilion is designed bySingapore firm WOHA Architects, one of Southeast Asias best known and most awarded architectural practices, and produced by Radius Experiential International.The pavilionfeatures a distinctive architectural design with lush landscaping as an interpretation of Singapores sustainability story.

The inventive vision for the Singapore Pavilion is that of a dense, multi-layered three-dimensional greening space a city that is set in a garden. The ground levelwill be a welcoming space for visitors, set in tropical garden ambience.Three large modular garden cones draped in verdant vertical greenery will form the centrepieces of the pavilion, with key exhibits housed within their inside spaces. A canopy walk will interconnect the three cones to lead guests through the shows and up to an open platform with vantage purposes of the Expo site that additionally takes into account collaboration and discourse.
