Samsung TV Plus Launches in the UAE, Offering Free Premium Entertainment on Samsung TVs

Samsung Gulf Electronics is thrilled to announce the launch of Samsung TV Plus in the UAE, a free ad-supported TV (FAST) and video service that provides a wide range of live channels and content across various genres, including news, sports, and entertainment. Initially launched globally in 2015, Samsung TV Plus comes pre-installed on Samsung TVs from 2016 onwards. In the UAE, the service is now available on 2022-2024 Samsung TV models and will soon expand to include 2020 and 2021 models.

Samsung TV Plus offers 20 channels at launch, with plans to expand its offerings in the coming months. UAE users can enjoy a diverse selection of entertainment, drama, lifestyle channels, and more, all free of charge.

Nikola Aksentijevic, Director and Head of Visual Display Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, commented on the launch: "We're excited to introduce Samsung TV Plus to our valued customers in the UAE. This marks the beginning of an exciting journey to bring premium, free entertainment to the region. Our vision is to build a platform that truly resonates with our Gulf audience. To achieve this, we warmly welcome all content partners and providers to join us in this effort as we curate a diverse array of content that reflects the unique tastes and preferences of viewers in the UAE and beyond."

The service features top local and globally localized content across five genres: Entertainment, Drama, Natural History, Lifestyle, and Kids. It includes 12 Arabic channels, 4 English channels, and 4 English channels with Arabic subtitles. Partnerships with leading content publishers and studios provide dedicated channels such as MBC’s Shahid, Zee Entertainment, BBC Studios, Nature Time, and Blue Ant Media, offering content that caters to Gulf audiences.

Key Features of Samsung TV Plus:

  • Premium Position: Samsung TV Plus is prominently positioned within the first screen launcher, making it easily accessible to users.
  • User-Friendly Interface: The interface mimics traditional broadcast channels, offering a seamless experience for users transitioning from traditional TV.
  • Content Discovery: A dedicated landing page helps users discover optimized content. Users can also mark favorite channels and access information about live shows, channels, and upcoming programming.
  • Arabic User Interface: A right-to-left user interface is available for Arabic-speaking users, ensuring a curated experience tailored to the MENA audience.

Samsung TVs, powered by the advanced Tizen operating system, offer unique and enhanced user experiences, including personalized recommendations and seamless connectivity with other devices. The TVs also feature advanced AI technologies, such as the 8K AI Upscaling Pro, AI Motion Enhancer Pro, and Adaptive Sound Pro, which optimize picture quality and sound to provide an immersive viewing experience.

The launch of Samsung TV Plus in the UAE is a significant step in Samsung Gulf Electronics' commitment to delivering high-quality content and exceptional viewing experiences. By offering a diverse range of local and international content and leveraging the advanced features of Samsung TVs, Samsung aims to redefine entertainment for its users regionally and globally
