Repton School Abu Dhabi Participates in Hour of Code Global Campaign
Repton School Abu Dhabi took part in the global Hour of Code project as part of Computer technology Education Week. The annual Hr of Code campaign is organized bycode.org, a nonprofit group that is devoted to computer science and increasing engagement by women and underrepresented minorities and is supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide.
A 1 hour session on coding was conducted throughout both universities of Repton Abu Dhabi for all students with leading coding pupils and a Pupil Digital Group being provided extra challenging coding sessions. The Pupil Digital Group supported their peers throughout the school with their coding sessions. The coding projects that the pupils worked with came from the Hour of Code campaign web site with block coding for the sessions with jobs targeted at assisting pupils to work with their very own variations of prominent games like Starwars, Minecraft, Flappy Bird etc.
The participation of the school in this year's edition of the Hour of Code campaign enhances the constant focus on coding as an essential part of the school educational program over the last few years with classes being conducted also for pupils in FS1.
