Ras Al Khaimah has secured the top position as the world’s best city for expatriates to get started abroad, according to InterNations, the world’s largest expatriate network. The emirate ranked first out of 53 cities in the 2024 Expat Essentials Index, a key component of the Expat Insider report.

The Expat Essentials Index evaluates cities based on four crucial categories:

1. Admin: Ease of obtaining visas, managing local bureaucracy, and opening bank accounts.

2. Housing: Affordability and ease of finding accommodation.

3. Digital Life: Availability of government services online and access to high-speed internet.

4. Language: Ease of integration without fluency in the local language.

This international accolade underscores Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to providing an exceptional living and working environment for its diverse expatriate community. The achievement aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, to position the emirate as a leading global destination for living, working, and thriving.

InterNations, which boasts over 5.4 million members across 420 cities in 166 countries, conducts the annual Expat Insider survey, providing insights into expatriates’ experiences worldwide.
