Missoni and Emirates Developments Unveil 250-Home Waterfront Project on Abu Dhabi’s Al Reem Island
Italian fashion house Missoni has partnered with Emirates Developments to launch Waterfront by Missoni, its first branded residential project in Abu Dhabi. The 250-residence tower will be located on Al Reem Island, bringing the brand’s distinctive design identity to the emirate’s waterfront property market.
The project will feature Missoni-inspired interiors across all residences and common areas, with the fashion house providing creative direction in collaboration with the Emirates Developments team.
Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2030, the development will offer freehold homes available to international buyers, ranging from one- to four-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom penthouses.
Missoni’s Signature Design Extends Across the Tower
Waterfront by Missoni incorporates the Italian fashion house’s signature zigzag motif throughout the building’s architecture and interiors.
The pattern will feature in the multicoloured paving at the centre of the podium, the tower’s exterior cladding and its mid-section. The building’s oval form will be wrapped in continuous horizontal fins designed to create a textile-inspired appearance, while planted balconies will break up the facade across its height.
Missoni’s creative direction will extend into each of the 250 homes, as well as the development’s shared spaces and amenities.
The residences will be delivered fitted and ready for occupation, with integrated kitchen appliances and built-in wardrobes installed to Missoni specifications.
Waterfront Residences Offer Eight Amenities
The development will feature an amenity deck on the first floor with eight facilities designed for recreation, fitness and social activities.
These will include a swimming pool, padel court, gym equipped with Technogym equipment, spa, residents’ clubhouse, children’s room, landscaped terraces and barbecue area.
Additional facilities on the ground floor will include a cinema, virtual reality room and business lounge. All amenities will follow Missoni’s design approach.
Al Reem Island Location Offers Waterfront Views
Waterfront by Missoni will be located within Shams Abu Dhabi, an established freehold community on Al Reem Island, approximately 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi city centre.
The tower will have water on two sides, with a canal on one side and the sea on the other. The development will also feature direct beach access at its base, with views across the sea, canal, city and surrounding community.
Residents will be within reach of several retail, education and healthcare facilities, including Reem Mall, Shams Boutik, Repton School Abu Dhabi, Reem Hospital and Burjeel Hospital.
Emirates Developments Highlights Design-Led Approach
Tareq Siam, Managing Director at Emirates Developments, described the project as a significant milestone for the company and Abu Dhabi’s branded residential market.
“What sets this collaboration apart is its depth. The Missoni design language runs through the common areas and into the interior of each home, styled under the house's creative direction in close collaboration with our team,” Siam said.
He added that the project reflects the company’s focus on creating branded residences supported by design integrity and location.
Waterfront by Missoni joins Emirates Developments’ portfolio of branded residential projects across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, adding another fashion-led development to the UAE’s expanding branded property segment.
