Ministry of Health & Prevention Wins First Place for its Heroes of Health Smart Application

The Ministry of Health & Prevention's (MOHAP) Division of Health Education and Promotion, won first place in the Best Community Sport Initiative competition, for its smart application, Heroes of Health. The competition was organized by the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, under the patronage of His Excellency (H.E.) Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Advancement, and Chairman of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare.

Dr. Fadila Mohammed Sharif, Director of Health Education and Promotion Department at MOHAP, shared her satisfaction in the success that came as an outcome of the Ministry's continuous efforts to promote a healthy way of life amongst the community in the UAE. Sharif noted that the success shows the Ministry's initiatives to carry out lasting programs, and that the 'Heroes of Health' smart application sustains the goals of the National Schedule, to deal with obesity in children by 2021.

Nouf Khamis, Deputy Director of Health Education and Promotion department, commended the efforts of the management team in overseeing the preparation of the application and kept in mind that 'Heroes of Health,' is an interactive smart application that offers health details to children, helping those lead much healthier way of lives. The application educates children on health through a series of video games. Children are likewise motivated to lead healthier way of livings and exercise frequently. The new smart application aids children make healthier selections when purchasing food, along with keeping great hygiene to avoid condition. Khamis highlighted the importance of the success for the Best Community Sporting activity Initiative, which intends to encourage all markets to carry out tasks, campaigns and innovative programs, urging the community to workout, and benefitting society overall.
