Minister of Climate Change & Environment inspects Jebel Ali Ports Agricultural & Veterinary Quarantine Center
H.E. Dr. Thani Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, met H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World, during his recent visit to Jebel Ali Port to check the Ministry's Agricultural and Veterinary Quarantine. During the meeting, they went over the methods to cultivate strategic collaborations between the 2 parties in order to raise the efficiency of the evaluation and supervision services offered by the Center. H.E. Dr. Al-Zeyoudi praised the services offered by the Port's management authority to enhance the quarantine work flow.
Prior to going to the Center in Jebel Ali, the Minister, accompanied by H.E. Sultan Bin Alwan Al Habsi, Assistant Undersecretary of Regions Sector at the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, had carried out an inspection of the Agricultural and Veterinary Quarantine Center in Al Hamriya Port. The visit was arranged to examine work flow and effectiveness in addition to display and examine the efficiency of incoming and outgoing shipments.
H.E. Al-Zeyoudi was offered a detailed description of the Center's work flow and the services provided and their compatibility with the Ministry's strategy to promote stakeholders' happiness of the Ministry's services. He was informed about the Center's key function in securing the UAE from agricultural pests and animal illness.
The Minister highlighted the value of Jebel Ali Port for the nation, due to the high volume of import and export the center manages, leading to a great deal of everyday deals performed by employees. He praised the experienced and certified workers of the Center who complete all transactions according to the highest international standards and practices to ensure a precise, fluid and quick trading process while ensuring the safety of products and its compliance with the standards.
"The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is keen to enhance the stated treatments and services in the Ministry's Centers and develop a team of qualified professionals to handle unexpected emergency situations. In addition, the Ministry aims to promote technical abilities to resolve all problems that threaten the UAE's food safety and motivate exchange of information in between the Centers and strategic partners to ensure a quick reaction in case of an emergency situation," concluded H.E. Al-Zeyoudi.
