MERED Launches Abu Dhabi’s First Floating Sales Gallery on Al Reem Island

MERED has unveiled Abu Dhabi’s first floating sales gallery on the waters of Al Reem Island, offering an immersive introduction to its flagship waterfront development, Riviera Residences.

The first-of-its-kind venue marks a shift toward experiential real estate, aligning with rising investor demand as Abu Dhabi’s property market records significant growth in 2026. The launch was attended by representatives from Abu Dhabi Global Market and senior industry stakeholders.

A New Approach to Real Estate Showcasing

Positioned directly on the water beside the project site, the floating gallery is designed to reflect the core identity of Riviera Residences, where the sea plays a central role in architecture and lifestyle. The space blends Mediterranean Riviera aesthetics with Emirati design elements, creating a curated preview of the development’s vision.

The project spans over 23,400 square metres across two prime plots and is envisioned as a premium waterfront destination.

Global Design and Development Expertise

Riviera Residences is being developed in collaboration with globally recognised firms, including:

  • Herzog & de Meuron (Pritzker Prize-winning architects)
  • Michel Desvigne Paysagiste
  • DAR Al-Handasah
  • NSCC International Ltd

The development will feature over 400 apartments and 11 villas, including sky villas, bay villas, and a penthouse, complemented by landscaped gardens and a waterfront promenade with cafés, retail, and dining outlets.

Strong Market Momentum in Abu Dhabi

According to MERED, Abu Dhabi’s real estate transaction value surged by 160% in Q1 2026, reflecting growing demand for high-end residential developments. Foreign direct investment in the sector reached approximately AED 8 billion during the same period, matching the total recorded for the whole of 2025.

CEO Michael Belton highlighted that the floating gallery reflects the company’s philosophy of aligning project presentation with design excellence, enabling investors to engage with developments in a more authentic and immersive way.

Al Reem Island’s Strategic Importance

Al Reem Island continues to rank among Abu Dhabi’s most active real estate hubs, offering proximity to key destinations such as:

  • Saadiyat Cultural District
  • The Galleria Al Maryah Island
  • Reem Central Park

The island combines modern infrastructure, waterfront living, and lifestyle amenities, supporting Abu Dhabi’s vision for sustainable urban communities.

Construction Progress Underway

The launch coincides with strong construction momentum at Riviera Residences, with over 60% of enabling works completed, including piling, ground improvement, and foundation works. This progress reflects the resilience of Abu Dhabi’s off-plan market and continued investor confidence.
