LG Electronics unveils its “AI in action” strategy across homes, mobility and infrastructure
LG Electronics has outlined its vision for bringing artificial intelligence into everyday life with the unveiling of its “AI in Action” approach, showcasing how the company is translating AI from concept to practical, real-world applications across homes, vehicles and commercial infrastructure.
The announcement was made during the LG World Premiere, the company’s annual pre-CES event held in Las Vegas, attended by around 1,000 guests including global media, industry experts and partners. Held under the theme “Innovation in tune with you,” the event highlighted LG’s commitment to customer-centric innovation focused on delivering tangible value.
At the core of LG’s strategy are three pillars: excellence in devices built on strong core technologies, a seamlessly orchestrated ecosystem, and the expansion of AI-driven solutions beyond the home into mobility and commercial spaces. Together, these elements form what LG describes as “Affectionate Intelligence” evolving into action-oriented AI.
LG President and CEO Lyu Jae-cheol introduced the company’s Zero Labor Home vision, in which intelligent devices operate as agent appliances within a single AI system that manages everyday tasks on behalf of users. The goal, he said, is to give customers back their most valuable resource — time.
A key highlight of the event was the introduction of LG CLOiD™, a home-specialised AI robot designed to act as an ambient care agent. Equipped with two arms and five-fingered hands, LG CLOiD is capable of learning and adapting to home environments, performing tasks such as folding laundry, organising dishes and proactively assisting with daily routines. Designed with safety and mobility in mind, the robot can operate reliably in real homes, even in the presence of children and pets.
LG also showcased advancements in its product portfolio, including the ultra-slim LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV. Measuring just nine millimetres in thickness, the TV features Hyper Radiant Color Technology for improved brightness and colour accuracy, along with True Wireless technology that eliminates the need for visible connections.
In home appliances, LG presented an advanced LG SIGNATURE refrigerator capable of understanding conversational language, offering tailored storage recommendations and personalised recipe suggestions based on recognised ingredients. The LG SIGNATURE oven range was also highlighted, featuring Gourmet AI that identifies ingredients and recommends from a curated selection of recipes.
Beyond the home, LG detailed how its AI capabilities are extending into vehicles and commercial infrastructure. In mobility, the company is positioning itself as an “experience architect,” using on-device multimodal generative AI to transform vehicles into personalised, intelligent spaces with features such as gaze tracking, adaptive displays and seamless home-to-vehicle content integration.
In commercial applications, LG emphasised the growing role of AI-enhanced HVAC solutions, particularly for high-efficiency cooling in AI data centres. The company is strengthening collaborations in this area, including projects in the Middle East and partnerships focused on advanced cooling technologies.
Closing the event, LG reiterated that its vision for AI in Action is centred on quietly supporting people in meaningful ways, making everyday life more intuitive, efficient and human. From a regional perspective, LG Gulf engaged local media and influencers at the event in Las Vegas, while also hosting virtual participation initiatives for audiences unable to attend in person.
