GCC projects account for 20 percent of the global market for natural stone

Dubai, United Arab Emirates 18 March 2015 The Middle East is an attractive marketplace for stones the regional estimated construction project value for 2015 is USD72 billion as per Ventures Report on 2014/2015 GCC Building Construction. Currently, GCC projects total USD5 billion of the USD24 billion global markets for natural stone.

With stone products accounting for 12 to 15 per cent of the total value of a construction project, the Middle East stone show will bring together buyers and suppliers of stones in one place. The first ever platform in the region dedicated to stone, marble and ceramics will take place on 18th-21st, May 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event will provide a spotlight on producers from across the globe, with premier stone suppliers from 22 countries including those from Turkey, Italy, Greece, Spain, Brazil, Portugal and India showcasing the latest designs and technologies related to finished and semi-finished stone and ceramics products.

The growing number of people wanting to live, workand visit the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, has been a huge driver for the construction industrys robust performance. There will be hundreds of hotels, new residential buildings and commercial spaces to be built over the next few years. As such, the massive demand for natural and artificial stones cannot be ignored. It is therefore a perfect time to launch a dedicated show for the stone industry the Middle East Stone show,will provide a dedicated platform for stone manufacturers, buyers and contractors in a strategic hub, said Mark Goodchild, Event Director, Middle East Stone.
