When is Eid Al Fitr 2026 expected in the UAE, and how long will the holiday last?

According to astronomical projections and official calendars, UAE residents can look forward to a four-day weekend for Eid Al Fitr 2026. The UAE Moon-Sighting Committee will look for the crescent moon on Wednesday, March 18. If the moon is sighted that evening, Eid Al Fitr will fall on Thursday, March 19, with public holidays from March 19 to 21—creating a four-day break including Sunday. However, if the moon is not sighted, Ramadan will last 30 days, and Eid will be on Friday, March 20, with the holiday running from March 19 to 22—still resulting in a four-day weekend. As per Dubai Astronomy Group’s Khadijah Ahmad, astronomical calculations indicate Ramadan is likely to last 30 days this year, making Friday, March 20, the most probable date for Eid Al Fitr.
