UAE law clearly protects workers from verbal, physical, psychological, and sexual harassment — Article 14 of the Employment Law prohibits such behaviour, while Article 13 requires employers to provide a safe workplace; repeated shouting or demeaning language in front of colleagues can even amount to a criminal offence under Article 427 of the Crimes and Penalties Law, punishable by up to six months in jail or a Dh5,000 fine, and affected employees may file a complaint with MoHRE and even resign without notice within five days if the abuse is proven. Do you think UAE employees feel confident using these protections — or do job security fears still stop many from speaking up?
