What health requirements must UAE pilgrims meet for the 2026 Hajj season?

The UAE’s General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has urged all 2026 Hajj pilgrims to complete medical screenings and meet health conditions set by the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims must be free from serious physical, neurological, or psychological illnesses, not be in late-stage pregnancy, and have no active infectious or cancer conditions. Required immunisations include meningitis and seasonal influenza vaccines, along with recommended shots such as the COVID-19 vaccine. Awqaf will review medical results in coordination with health authorities to ensure each pilgrim’s fitness and safety. Do you think these stricter health checks will make the pilgrimage safer for everyone involved?
