At Arab Health 2025, Emirates Health Services (EHS) is unveiling two groundbreaking projects under the theme "The Future of Healthcare" that aim to revolutionize chronic disease management: the Total Artificial Heart and Islet Cell Allo-Transplantation. The Total Artificial Heart, developed in collaboration with the Texas Heart Institute, uses innovative magnetic technology to circulate blood, offering a solution for patients with advanced heart failure and has already received FDA approval. The Islet Cell Allo-Transplantation project, in partnership with the University of Chicago, offers a groundbreaking treatment for type 1 diabetes, where pancreatic cells are transplanted into the liver to help patients maintain blood sugar balance and potentially eliminate the need for insulin, also FDA-approved. These projects highlight EHS's commitment to advancing healthcare in line with the UAE's National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031.
