Should Parents Hold Their Children Back Under Dubai’s New School Age Cut-Offs?

With Dubai’s revised admission rules, children can now start Pre-Kindergarten at age three if they turn three by December 31 of the admission year — easing years of confusion for parents of late-born kids. Educators, however, stress that this doesn’t mean children are being rushed into classrooms. Schools will continue to assess readiness, emotional maturity, and developmental milestones to ensure each child thrives. For some families, holding a child back another year may still be beneficial, depending on their individual growth and confidence levels. What do you think — is it better to start early or give children more time to develop before school?
