Henna artists across the Emirates say this year’s Eid season is seeing growing demand for elegant, modern patterns featuring fine detailing, jewellery-inspired motifs and clean wrist-length designs rather than the heavy elbow-length Arabic florals that once dominated festive celebrations. While many younger clients are embracing minimalist styles for a more refined and contemporary look, traditional Emirati and Khaleeji henna patterns continue to remain popular among families who prefer classic cultural designs. Artists are also highlighting the emergence of “Hengua” — a new blend of traditional henna and blue-tinted jagua — which some believe could become one of the UAE’s biggest henna trends by next Eid as customers increasingly seek unique and personalised body art styles for festive occasions.
