Could your AC be causing sneezing, headaches and allergies at home?

As temperatures rise across the UAE and air conditioners run for longer hours, health experts warn that poorly maintained AC systems may circulate dust, mould, bacteria and trapped moisture indoors, potentially triggering symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, headaches, nasal congestion, throat irritation and breathing difficulties. Doctors say children, elderly residents, asthma sufferers and those with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable. Experts recommend servicing AC units before peak summer, regularly cleaning or replacing filters, fixing leaks and condensation issues promptly, and keeping indoor temperatures between 26°C and 28°C to help reduce moisture buildup and improve air quality. Have you noticed more allergies, headaches or respiratory issues at home during the summer months, and do you regularly service your AC system?
