Can UAE residents enjoy longer weekends if public holidays fall midweek?

Under Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2024, certain holidays — like New Year’s Day, Hijri New Year, Prophet’s Birthday, Arafat Day, and National Day — may be shifted to the beginning or end of the week to create extended weekends, but only if the Cabinet issues a decision for that year. Eid holidays, however, are not transferable. This means employees and employers must wait for the official holiday schedule before making travel or work plans. Do you think this flexibility is helpful for residents planning family time and vacations, or does the uncertainty make it harder to plan?
