Expo 2020 Dubai - A significant opportunity for both local and international investors

The UAE’s bid to host Expo 2020 Dubai received an unprecedented wave of support, not only from within our own nation, but from all corners of the world. Now we seek to transform this energy into strategic partnerships that will be built and developed during both the lead-up to and delivery of Expo 2020, maximising the unique opportunities that it represents and the tremendous value that it will bring.

Expo 2020 Dubai will require an estimated investment of approximately US$8.8bn meaning there are significant opportunities for investment, around both the Expo site itself and in terms of city readiness, particularly in the construction, engineering, hospitality, retail and aviation sectors.

Maximum international exposure for participants
With Dubai already ranked as one of the world’s top ten cities for international visitors, Expo 2020 expects to attract 25 million visits, with 70% originating from foreign nations. Expo 2020 Dubai will be the most international event in World Expo history, offering unprecedented opportunity for cultural exchange and networking for participants and visitors.

In addition to this, the UAE’s strong experience in nation branding, its network of partners and its one country-one paviliion concept will bring maximum exposure to participants and create exceptional opportunities for country and tourism promotion.

Engage with the MEASA region for the first time
It is estimated that by 2020, the collective GDP of the world’s emerging markets will overtake that of the developed economies for the first time. As the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, Expo 2020 Dubai will offer participants and visitors a unique opportunity to engage with some of the world’s most dynamic regions.

An Expo for the world
Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to welcome close to 250 participants, including countries, international organisations, NGOs, educational institutions and business entities.

Expo 2020 Dubai is not just an opportunity to invite the world to Dubai, it is an opportunity for Dubai to go out and forge new partnerships with the world. As part of our bid, the Government has €150 million in aid to eligible developing and low‐income nations to foster inclusive, high-quality participation from across the globe.

Ease of operations
Dubai has a proven track record in hosting international events, world-class infrastructure and a visa process that is free of onerous restrictions. Participants are guaranteed optimal operational and logistical efficiency and ease of access.
