ESM launches Centre of Excellence for Rugby at GEMS Wellington Academy, Silicon Oasis in partnership with Dubai Exiles

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 21 February 2019: GEMS Wellington Academy, Silicon Oasis facilitates the Centre of Excellence for Rugby with ESM Rugby Academy. ESM created a strategic partnership with Dubai Exiles Rugby Club, which offers GEMS students access to the highest level of coaching both in school and at The Sevens Stadium.

GEMS Wellington Academy, Silicon Oasis students make up the first dedicated Rugby Academy team in the GEMS Education network of schools with access to an extra-curricular program. The sessions are delivered by Coach Durandt Gerber, the Dubai Exiles RFC first team captain and ex-international Rugby player.

Through the partnership, WSO Falcons rugby team, coached by the PE staff and Dubai Exiles were given the opportunity to play in the HSBC Club Festival at The Sevens Stadium, where they played against established teams from across the Middle East. Both U12 and U13 teams were triumphant and won in their respective age groups.
