ENOC Honored with Two Sustainability Awards at Connecting Green Hydrogen MENA 2024
ENOC Group, a leading global energy player, has been recognized with two prestigious sustainability awards at the Connecting Green Hydrogen MENA 2024 event, held at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference Centre in Dubai. ENOC received the ‘UAE’s Future Energy Leader of the Year’ and ‘Hydrogen Project of the Year’ awards, highlighting its pivotal role in promoting sustainable energy solutions in the region.
Connecting Green Hydrogen MENA 2024, the largest green hydrogen event in the MENA region, brought together over 3,000 decision-makers, energy ministers, and CXOs from more than 50 countries to discuss and showcase the latest advancements in green hydrogen technology. ENOC's recognition followed a rigorous selection and evaluation process by the event's award committee, particularly for its establishment and operation of a green hydrogen station, reinforcing the UAE's climate neutrality goals.
His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO at ENOC, expressed his pride in the awards, stating, "Sustainability drives our economy today, and ENOC is committed to leading the creation of an inclusive green economy that minimizes environmental damage by incorporating sustainable practices across all our operations. These awards are a testament to our innovative approach and dedication to supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategic initiatives. They bolster our ambition to enhance our sustainable innovations within the UAE’s energy sector."
ENOC Group continues to advance the region’s energy sector with a strong focus on sustainability, digitization, and innovation. Aligning with global sustainability trends and the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, ENOC has significantly reduced its carbon footprint through initiatives aimed at meeting clean energy demands. These include testing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) with Emirates Airlines and partnering with local and international entities to convert municipal solid waste to SAF. Additionally, the Group is exploring hydrogen as an alternative fuel and has commissioned the first green hydrogen station, which was showcased during COP28 in Dubai last year.
