Emirati housewife strikes gold after several attempts at DSF raffles
After years of participating in DSF raffles and other promotions, Iman Mohammed, an Emirati housewife, finally struck gold by winning 1 kilo of the precious metal, at the Gold and Jewellery Mega Raffle, organized as part of the 20th anniversary edition of Dubai Shopping Festival.
I have participated in many raffles before but never won anything big. This is the first time I am actually winning something extremely valuable and I am extremely happy, said Iman Mohammed.
Iman received more than 20 coupons for the raffle after she went gold shopping at the Malabar Gold & Diamonds store in City Centre Mirdif. Unlike previous times, when she put her childrens name on the raffles, this time she chose to sign them off with her own name before dropping them into the raffle box. When filling the coupons, I said to myself that here I am trying my luck once again and never thought I would get lucky this time, given the fact that I had never won before, she added.
Commenting on what she would like to do with this mega prize, she said, I dont plan on selling the 1 kilo gold as of now. I would preserve it as a memorable saving for as long as I can.
The Gold and Jewellery Mega Raffle is the biggest ever gold and jewellery promotion, offering shoppers spending AED 500 at any of the participating outlets the chance to win up to AED 15 million in prizes including 100 kg of gold and 40 carats of diamond across 32 days of DSF.
At the prize-giving ceremony, Iman Mohammeds young son accepted the prize on his mothers behalf.
The 20th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and is being held under the theme, A Journey of Celebrations.
