Emirates Gas showcased green fuel alternatives at 3rd CNG-NGV ANGVA Forum 2015 in Dubai

Emirates Gas LLC (EMGAS), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), hosted the Compressed Natural Gas Natural Gas Vehicle (CNG-NGV) ANGVA (Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association) Forum 2015, from January 26-28, 2015, at Le Meridien Dubai. The event is focused on promoting the utilisation of CNG as a greener and cleaner fuel for fleets in the transportation sectors.

One of the key networking platforms that promotes the utilisation of CNG as a greener and cleaner fuel for vehicles including public transport, the ANGVA Forum 2015 4 featured several prominent industry experts, who shared their views on the benefits of green fuel. Specialised roundtables and conferences discussed global trends in the sector in the UAE, Qatar and the wider Gulf region as well as the growing market opportunities in Asia-Pacific region.

Other aspects that were discussed covered the use of compressed natural gas as a clean and sustainable fuel for transport, including fleets at the airport, with country/city updates on CNG infrastructure development and case studies from the UAE and other countries around the world.

Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director ENOC Gas Marketing and General Manager Emirates Gas LLC said: CNG has a key role to play in supporting the Green Economy for Sustainable Development vision announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for the automotive sector. This forum is just one of the many initiatives that ENOC is putting in place to further promote the use of CNG in preserving the environment and promoting efficient energy use, which highlights our commitment to working together towards a greener and cleaner UAE.

Delegates attending the forum also had a unique opportunity to see first-hand EMGASs CNG Mother Station at the DUGAS plant in Dubai.

Among other initiatives planned by EMGAS to promote the use of CNG is the setting up of a CNG refuelling facility for potential fleet owners such as DP World, Dubai Airports, driving institutes and other governmental departments and private sector entities.

EMGAS also owns and operates a CNG mobile filling unit which tours customer premises to distribute CNG according to their requirement. The advanced and fully-certified CNG mobile filling unit of EMGAS is equipped with 4,869 litres on-board CNG storage, compressor and electronic dispenser.

At the forum, Fazal Ali Khan, CNG Development Manager of EMGAS, provided insights on the CNG initiatives currently taking place in Dubai as well as any future opportunities in the emirate
