Emirates Development Bank Launches Student Entrepreneurship Bootcamp to Empower Emirati Youth

Emirates Development Bank (EDB), the primary financial engine driving economic development and industrial progress in the UAE, has launched the Students Entrepreneurship Bootcamp. This pioneering initiative aims to equip young Emiratis, aged 16-21, with essential entrepreneurial skills, preparing them for successful ventures in the Bank’s five priority sectors. The program underscores EDB's commitment to fostering a robust entrepreneurial culture and developing a skilled Emirati workforce capable of contributing to the UAE's economic growth.

Shaker Zainal, Chief Business Officer of Emirates Development Bank, highlighted the program's significance, stating, "The Students Entrepreneurship Bootcamp reflects our commitment to empowering the next generation of Emirati entrepreneurs through quality training, fostering local talent, and promoting innovation. We believe that empowering our youth is a pillar of sustainable economic growth, and we count on their innovative ideas and talents to shape the future of our economy."

Running from August 19-22, 2024, the four-day bootcamp is designed to ignite creativity and provide students with the entrepreneurial mindset needed to launch successful ventures. Participants will engage in workshops covering market research, strategic planning, branding, financial planning, problem-solving, and effective pitching, all conducted by the Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF). The program also includes mentorship sessions with successful UAE-based entrepreneurs and insights into accelerator programs like Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center "Sheraa," Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund & Accelerator "MBRIF," and Intelak Hub.

As part of the bootcamp, students will visit a leading food manufacturing company to learn about robotics, factory operations, and supply chain management, gaining hands-on experience and insights from senior executives.

EDB continues to support businesses of all sizes through innovative financing solutions, financial literacy programs, and business advisory services, fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem that is vital for the UAE's economic success
