RTA's Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) has signed an agreement with Al Dobowi Tyres Group to provide Korean's Hankook tires for its Taxi fleet for a period of 2 years amounting to AED12 million.

Dr. Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, said: "Renewing the agreement with Al Dobowi Co. signifies the continued cooperation between the two parties. It is apparent that tires have a crucial function in preserving the security of the automobile, driver and riders, and the DTC is eager to consist of in the agreement an arrangement for carrying out routine maintenance of tyres by the Company. The DTC pays substantial focus on all security concerns, especially those associating with tyres, in order to develop the very best deliverables towards recognizing its vision of Pioneers in Passenger Transport Services.

"The contract provides for supplying the DTC with South Korean-made Hankook brand tires compatible with GCC specs and standards. The Company would also attend to fitting & balancing of tyres and carrying out wheel alignment in case of changing 2 or more tyres per car. The contract also offers Al Dobowi to repair tire punctures in DTC taxicabs, and appoint agents to supply this complimentary service at their facilities," added Al Ali.

"Tyres of the Dubai Taxicabs will be replaced solely by Al Dobowi at DTC's Workshop at Muhaisna 4 in addition to external centers of the Company. The Company will also supply the requisite equipment and staff 24/7 including holidays according to the schedule accepted. It has also been concurred that the Company will purchase the used and replaced tyres of various sizes for ecologically safe disposal of such tyres.

We will offer all relevant devices needed for changing and balancing of tires at DTC's workshop and run them by specialist & proficient professionals, besides providing nitrogen gas complimentary of charge to all new tires mounted at the Center in addition to providing a mobile service in emergency cases. The contract covers production flaws and providing of safety certificates two times during the preliminary period of the agreement.".
