Dubai South and Expeditors Sign Agreement to Launch New Facility in Logistics District

Dubai South, the largest single-urban master development focusing on aviation, logistics, and real estate, has announced a strategic partnership with Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (NYSE: EXPD), a Fortune 500 global logistics company. The agreement will facilitate the opening of a new state-of-the-art facility for Expeditors within Dubai South’s Logistics District. This move underscores Expeditors’ dedication to expanding its regional footprint to meet the rising demand for advanced logistics solutions.

The signing ceremony was attended by prominent leaders from both organizations, including HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South; Mohsen Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of the Logistics District, Dubai South; and Expeditors representatives, Jeffrey S. Musser, President and Chief Executive Officer; K Murali, Senior Vice President, Middle East, Africa & Indian Subcontinent; Mathew Joseph, Regional Vice President, Middle East and North Africa; and Wael Hanna, District Manager, Dubai.

Spanning approximately 23,200 square meters, the new facility will bolster Expeditors’ warehousing and fulfillment capabilities, including inventory management, kitting, labeling, order management, compliance inspections, returns processing, transportation management, and pick-and-pack services. Additionally, its container freight station operations will focus on shipment consolidation and segregation, export services, and unit load device breakdowns. Operations at the facility are set to commence in February 2025.
