Dubai Gold Souk Extension Launches ‘Souk of Giving’ to Support Dubai’s Drivers This Ramadan
In celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dubai Gold Souk Extension has introduced a new annual initiative, “Souk of Giving”, aimed at honouring Dubai’s taxi and tour bus drivers. Running from 10 to 25 March 2025, the initiative provides complimentary Iftar packages to the city’s drivers, recognizing their vital role in guiding residents and visitors to one of Dubai’s most historic and bustling gold trade hubs.
Each evening, participating drivers can visit the Dubai Gold Souk Extension’s information desk to collect their Iftar meals by presenting a valid RTA or official tour operator ID. The initiative, launched in the spirit of Ramadan’s generosity and hospitality, ensures that those working tirelessly throughout the holy month are appreciated and supported. On the very first day, over 100 drivers benefitted from the program, reinforcing the Dubai Gold Souk Extension’s commitment to community welfare.
“The Souk of Giving initiative reflects the UAE leadership’s vision of a strong and united community, as championed through this year’s national initiative, the ‘Year of Community.’ At the Dubai Gold Souk Extension, we are committed to embracing the spirit of generosity that defines both the Holy Month of Ramadan and the values of the nation. By sharing Iftar meals, we contribute to an inclusive and empowered society where collaboration, kindness, and shared responsibility drive collective progress,” said Rashid Al Harmoodi, Senior Director of Property Management, Ithra Dubai.
The Souk of Giving initiative highlights Dubai Gold Souk Extension’s ongoing efforts to engage with and support the community, ensuring that those who keep Dubai moving feel valued during this special time of the year.
