du Powers Dubai Mallathon with Advanced Indoor 5G+ Connectivity Across Six Major Malls

UAE telecommunications and digital services provider du has announced its sponsorship of the second edition of Dubai Mallathon, reinforcing its commitment to supporting community wellbeing initiatives through advanced digital infrastructure and seamless connectivity.

The city-wide fitness initiative, launched under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, is being held from June 15 to September 15, 2026.

Dubai Mallathon aims to encourage residents and visitors to embrace healthier lifestyles during the summer by transforming some of Dubai’s leading shopping destinations into indoor fitness hubs offering safe and air-conditioned environments for walking, jogging, and other physical activities.

Connectivity Across Six Major Malls

As part of its sponsorship, du will provide participants with uninterrupted high-speed connectivity through its advanced indoor 5G+ network infrastructure deployed across six participating malls:

  • Dubai Mall
  • Mall of the Emirates
  • Mirdif City Centre
  • Dubai Festival City Mall
  • Deira City Centre
  • Dubai Hills Mall

The enhanced network will enable visitors to access fitness applications, track their activities, share experiences on social media platforms, stay connected with family and friends, and use digital services seamlessly throughout the event.

Supporting Health and Community Engagement

Commenting on the initiative, Saleem Alblooshi, Chief Technology Officer at du, said Dubai Mallathon demonstrates how community-focused programmes can inspire healthier habits and improve overall quality of life.

He noted that the company is proud to support an initiative that aligns with Dubai’s vision of promoting wellbeing and active lifestyles while leveraging technology to enhance participant experiences.

Alblooshi added that du’s advanced indoor 5G+ deployment will ensure reliable and high-performance connectivity across all participating venues, enabling real-time engagement and digital interaction throughout the event.

Showcasing Next-Generation Network Infrastructure

The sponsorship also highlights du’s continued investment in next-generation telecommunications infrastructure and its leadership in indoor 5G connectivity solutions.

The company stated that its advanced network architecture supports precise and flexible service deployment while improving operational efficiency and preparing for future technological innovations.

By delivering enhanced connectivity in high-footfall indoor environments, du aims to meet the growing digital demands of communities, businesses, and large-scale public initiatives.

Part of Dubai’s Quality of Life Vision

Dubai Mallathon forms part of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, a long-term roadmap focused on enhancing residents’ wellbeing, community engagement, and overall quality of life.

The initiative also supports the objectives of the Year of the Family 2026, promoting family participation and inclusive community experiences.

The programme features dedicated walking and running tracks, fitness sessions, community events, weekend races, and activities designed for women, senior citizens, and People of Determination.

Through its participation, du continues to strengthen its role in supporting innovative community initiatives while contributing to Dubai’s vision of becoming one of the world’s healthiest, happiest, and most connected cities.
