The Digital Sharjah Platform processed more than 2.65 million digital transactions during the first half of 2026, marking a 102% year-on-year increase as the emirate accelerates implementation of the Sharjah Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2028.
According to the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), the total value of transactions exceeded AED 514 million during the six-month period, surpassing the total transaction value recorded throughout the whole of 2025.
The strong performance reflects continued efforts to enhance digital government services, strengthen integration between public entities and expand the use of artificial intelligence across government operations.
Digital Services Continue to Expand
The platform increased the number of connected government entities to 62, while the total number of available digital services rose to 155 following the addition of 33 new services during the first half of the year.
The expansion is part of Sharjah's broader digital transformation programme, which focuses on creating an integrated government ecosystem centred on user experience, data-driven decision-making and advanced technologies.
H.E. Eng. Lamia Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Director of the Sharjah Digital Department, said the latest results demonstrate tangible progress in implementing the emirate's digital transformation strategy.
She said the initiative aims to build an interconnected government ecosystem, develop user-centric digital services and leverage data and artificial intelligence to improve government efficiency.
According to Al Shamsi, the continued growth also reflects increasing public confidence in digital government services and highlights the positive impact of integrated government systems in simplifying user journeys and improving service quality.
AI Adoption Sees Strong Growth
Artificial intelligence-powered services also recorded significant growth during the reporting period.
More than 19,000 users completed transactions using AI-enabled services, representing a 110% increase compared with the first half of 2025.
The Digital Sharjah Assistant also received further enhancements, with its institutional knowledge base expanded to include information from more than 200 government websites.
The expanded knowledge base is intended to improve response accuracy while enabling users to access government information and services more efficiently.
User Base Continues to Grow
The platform's user community continued to expand during the first six months of the year.
Registered users exceeded 546,000, while the number of active users reached approximately 290,000.
Meanwhile, the Digital Sharjah mobile application recorded more than 249,000 downloads, representing a 210% increase compared with the corresponding period last year.
According to SDD, the increase reflects the growing adoption of the platform as a primary channel for accessing and completing government services digitally.
The department said it will continue enhancing the platform and expanding its digital services in line with the objectives of the Sharjah Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2028, with a focus on improving accessibility, service quality and the efficiency of government service delivery.
