DEWA conducts training session for employees on ISO 31000 Enterprise Risk Management

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised a training session for employees on ISO 31000 Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), which aims to guide and assist organisations in implementing ERM.

The training session is in line with DEWAs ongoing efforts to promote institutional excellence, and is part of the efforts aimed at strengthening ERM and developing institutional practices in accordance with ISO 31000 Enterprise Risk Management programme.

DEWA is regarded as number one in the Middle East in implementing SAP Risk Management and adopting the best international standards based on the ISO 31000 Enterprise Risk Management. To be a sustainable innovative world-class utility and to enhance competitiveness at all levels, DEWA adopts a Risk Management system that applies studies to predict risks and to take preventive and precautionary measures that are necessary to avoid them before they become obstacles affecting the achievement of organisational goals. This enables us to achieve the best organisational results and contributes to maintaining DEWAs pioneering position globally, said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

DEWA has started the implementation of SAP Governance, Risk, and Compliance: (SAP GRC 10.1 HANA), which is in line with its strategy to leverage the latest technologies and solutions and integrate them in all online operations.

DEWAs Enterprise Risk Management Department organises a series of intensive training sessions periodically to familiarise staff with the ISO 31000 ERM institutional mechanisms for its implementation and its benefits in improving organisational performance.
