Deloitte Middle East will showcase its perspectives on AI-enabled government, agentic AI and the changing relationship between people and automation at AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026, taking place on October 6 and 7 at ADNEC Centre.
Deloitte's participation will focus on how governments can adopt AI to improve public services while ensuring that human skills, judgement, trust and accountability remain central to technology adoption.
AI Adoption Drives Focus on Workforce Transformation
The event comes as artificial intelligence gains a larger role across businesses and governments in the Middle East, raising questions about how organisations can implement AI while preparing employees for changes in their roles.
According to Deloitte's 2026 State of AI in the Enterprise – Middle East report, 34% of organisations in the region are using AI to significantly transform products, services, core processes or business models. The report also found that 61% are implementing upskilling and reskilling strategies to prepare their workforces for AI.
“AI is already changing how organizations operate and how people work, but technology alone will not determine its impact,” said Yousef Barkawie, Board Member and Partner, Growth Platforms & AI Strategic Growth Offering Leader at Deloitte Middle East.
He said organisations that successfully adopt AI will need to give equal attention to their people by ensuring employees have the skills and confidence to work alongside AI.
Agentic AI Explored for Government Services
As Abu Dhabi advances its AI-native government ambitions, agentic AI is creating new possibilities for the design and delivery of public services.
Deloitte recently worked with Abu Dhabi's Department of Government Enablement to showcase agentic AI solutions designed around government requirements, demonstrating potential applications in service delivery and government processes.
“AI is creating new opportunities for governments to improve how services are designed and delivered,” said Shargil Ahmad, Partner and Government & Public Services Industry Leader at Deloitte Middle East.
He said the focus should be on applying AI where it can have a meaningful impact while maintaining human judgement, trust and accountability in government services.
Deloitte to Lead Agentic AI Workshop
On October 6, Costi Perricos, Partner and Global Generative AI Leader at Deloitte, will lead an interactive workshop focused on Deloitte's Agentic Blueprint.
The session will demonstrate how the framework can be used to rapidly develop and test AI-powered applications addressing challenges faced by governments and municipalities.
“Agentic AI opens up new possibilities for how governments manage complex work and deliver success,” Perricos said.
He added that the next step is to translate this potential into practical solutions based on public-sector needs, while incorporating security and responsible development principles.
Panel to Examine Human Experience in Automated World
On October 7, Barkawie will join the panel “The Human Experience in an Automated World” at AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026.
The discussion will examine how AI and automation are changing the way people work, interact with technology and experience services.
Together, Deloitte's sessions at the event will explore how governments can apply AI to practical challenges while focusing on security, responsible adoption and measurable outcomes.
