Celebrating the citizens of tomorrow Emirati Childrens Day
Dubai, 14 March 2019: The Ministry of Community Development will celebrate the 15th of March as the Emirati Childrens Day. To ensure its young citizens are treated with the best and given the respect they deserve, the Ministry has taken the initiative to host 18 activities solely for kids in different parts of the country.
The activities are targeted at children, people of determination and school students. Eman Hareb, Director of Social Protection Department at the Ministry of Community Development, said the ministrys celebration comes in response to the directives of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Womens Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation to celebrate the Emirati Childrens Day on March 15 each year coinciding with the UAE signing the International Childhood Convention and issuance of the Federal Law No. (13) of 2016 Concerning Child Rights Law Wadeema.
The activities set up for kids are:
Ajman: Four activities that would enhance positive and healthy child including storytelling, awareness stories for children, success stories in media and a number of competitions.
Dibba: Sports events for both boys and girls of determination including football, volleyball.
Fujairah: Sports activities and traditional games for young kids.
Julphar: Workshop titled Let them express their wishes, football match and workshop about the environment.
Jumeirah: Wishes board and gifts for Emirati children.
Kalba: Press writing and reports, competitions and success stories in the media.
Khor Fakkan: Football matches for people of determination.
Ras Al Khaimah: Entertainment, cultural and social activities introducing children to different cultures.
Sharjah: Four activities: reading session for senior Emiratis about tolerance, planting Alghaf tolerance tree, distribution of gifts and colouring workshop.
Umm Al Quwain: Recycling workshop for school students.
