Airbus issued one of its largest-ever recalls after discovering a software malfunction linked to intense solar radiation that can corrupt critical flight-control data — a problem identified following a JetBlue A320 incident in October that forced an emergency landing. Regulators, including the FAA and EASA, have ordered operators to install mandatory software updates on A319, A320 and A321 jets, affecting more than half of the global A320 fleet and causing flight delays across multiple carriers. In the UAE, Air Arabia (67 aircraft) and Etihad (39 aircraft) confirmed they are complying, with Etihad already completing updates and Air Arabia working to minimise disruption.
